Have you tried posting the dog on Brazos Lost and Found Pets’ facebook page? You could also try posting him on the Neighborhood app — someone might be looking for this baby especially with all of the bad weather we had a few weeks back. You might also e-mail our pit bull rescue president stephanie@mylongwayhome.org for some additional resources.

If you’ve tried those things and still can’t find his owner, please take him to your municipality’s animal shelter. They can facilitate any medical care the dog needs and also work with pit bull rescues to get him adopted.

She’s the president of our Pit Bull rescue and has a lot of contacts in other cities. I know she’s done some work on breed restriction housing so she could also offer some pointers.

My dog Cash and I want a healthy living arrangement as in a shared house, flat or townhouse, preferably with a yard. No apt living.

Can your organization assist me with this?

Unfortunately intake at the shelter is closed — our residents are here because of medical and/or behavioral issues that make them unadoptable. And that sometimes requires us to temporarily close intake.

Have you tried listing momma dog on the Brazos Lost and Found Pets Facebook page? With all of the bad weather this area has had lately, it’s possible she just got lost and can’t find her way home.

If you’ve already attempted to locate her owners and have been unsuccessful, depending on the breed of momma dog, I would suggest you contact Stephanie@mylongwayhome.org (pitbull rescue) or April@mylongwayhome.org (Adoptable rescue) and see if they can offer you any assistance or additional resources. If you’ve attempted all of that, please take the dog/puppies to the local shelter in your area, that way they can ensure that momma and her babies get the medical care they need.

We live in the country in Grimes County and I cannot find ANY help or guidance.
We cannot take them in. She is friendly, and wags her tail! She looks bad, thin, something wrong with her skin, fleas, ticks. Have not been able to get to the puppies under the mobile home… Please help in any way. Thank you, -Claudette (WK: 979-862-3938)

I hope you found someone to care for your cousin’s pets.

I adopted two pets from a lady named Wilma and her mother Jackie and son at Mr. Z animal shelter In Houston, Tx. They relocated to Collage Station. I have not contacted them in 8 years. Could you please forward this message to them for me. I just wanted to thank Wilma’s son for finding my dog and bringing It back to the rescue center, that I adopted. Wilma’s son had gone over to Grander Mountains pre-construction site to save her 12 years ago. She was scared and had a burn mark all across her back. He talked to her, for over 1 hour and he gained her trust to slowly come out. She was hidden in the building materials , in the back where It was safe. This was next to 290 and hwy 6. She was my whole world and God had blessed me with the most amazing dog. I could not have children. She was the greatest gift!!! I enjoyed her for 12 years. She died of lymphoma on 11-9-2015. Wilma’s son rescued her on 11-3 03 and abopted her on 11-17-03.
Regards,
Kay

My cousin , a resident of Bryan, passed away leaving 5 adult cats ,about age 10 Yrs old , without someone to care for them.
I live in Dallas and already have 9 cats and a large dog.
I do not want them to end up in a shelter.
If your organization cannot help, can you suggest one that can? Ideally these cats would stay together, but that may be impossible.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely, Kalen 214 522 0003

Thank you so much for your kind offer. I’ve given your information that you provided in a Facebook PM to April and Stephanie who handle the adoption sides of Long Way Home. I’m sure they’ll be contacting you shortly. If you need any further assistance, please always feel free to contact me either on Facebook or at paula@mylongwayhome.org.
